It is located in south-central Yukon, northeast of Whitehorse covering approximately 36,000 square kilometers or 21,600 square miles of hunting paradise. Large areas of the outfit are remote; accessible only by plane or horseback, and a northern part of the area has never been commercially hunted. The terrain, which ranges from mountains, high plateaus, grassy slopes and forested valleys provides natural habitat for all species of big game. Numerous lakes and streams offer great fishing for the sportsman.

Here are prime whitetail properties straddling the Missouri/Kansas line. Eastern Kansas has long been a trophy producer. This outfitter grew up hunting this area’s rolling hills, creek bottoms, hardwoods, marshes and farm fields and currently has access to over 9,000 private acres of prime hunting habitat. This isn’t a high volume commercial operation, because he believes that large numbers of hunters and quality hunting just don’t mix. Hunt 15,000 acres in the middle of the Sandhills of Nebraska along the beautiful Niobrara River Valley. This is land big enough for big bucks to grow bigger. The Niobrara River has a reputation for releasing some of the biggest corn fed bucks in Nebraska. The key is the rugged country doesn’t take well to the plow in many places leaving some “Jungle” areas for these big bucks to stay and wait out the hunting seasons. Where the plow worked well is corn and alfalfa for the deer to eat high protein feed while they are waiting to die of old age.

This is a 5 day semi-guided hunt for Whitetail or Mule Deer on 300 private Acres out of near Scottsbluff Nebraska containing Woodlands, creek, and agricultural property with a maximum of 2 hunters per year. The whitetails are in the creek bottom and come out to feed. Hunting is from the top of two large hay stacks along the river bottom. Owner will provide hunters with a map of the fence lines and the location of the hay stacks along with show them the property.
The opportunity and kill rate for both Mule and whitetail deer has been 99, 9% in the past. The number of hunters has been limited to two per year to keep the quality up. This is known by the Nebraska Game and Fish as a Trophy Unit, the Plains Unit or Area 23 in Garden County.

We offer semi-guided hunting on this scenic 3,300-acre working cattle ranch which is on top of the Pine Ridge area of Northwest Nebraska. Our package includes lodging up to 5 nights, 5 meals, and 4 days of semi-guided hunting. Extra meals are available. For the rifle season, we take two groups of 3 to 4 hunters each. Each group will have one end of the ranch entirely to themselves. We also take in a limited number of archery and black powder hunters.

Our Semi-guided hunts allow us to drive you around the ranch to show you where fences, gates, stock tanks/creeks and boundary fences are. Plan to arrive at the Ponderosa Ranch early afternoon (during daylight) the day before your hunt starts. You will be provided with a topographic ranch map. The headquarter area is situated in the center of the ranch. You can either walk from the cabin to hunt, or use a 4x4 vehicle on the logging roads.

Wouldn’t you like to shoot a big buck in southwest Nebraska? I have both Whitetail and Muley. I have 700 acres of private land and 1500 acres of public land surrounding my hunting house where you will stay. It is only 20 miles from McCook, which has a super Wal-Mart in case you forget something.
You have found one of the hidden Mule Deer, (plus there are some big whitetail bucks to shoot if you would rather that than a muley) treasures of SW Nebraska. This hideaway has corn, wheat milo and CRP and Woods wrapped around Mule Deer. It doesn’t get any better than that on a DIY. The first 3 day is Mule Deer hunting only. The last 4 days of the rifle season is Deer plus pheasants and quail. The deer have the row crop for feed and 1500 acres of CRP to bed in during mild weather and woods during bad weather. Caution this Frenchman unit licenses sell fast around June 14th so book early and get your licenses as soon as they are available. Great place for a “hunters choice license hunt archery, rifle and muzzleloader on the same license, it is good until you fill it. Buy a second buck tag and fill it only with a whitetail with only a $500 additional fee. No more than 1 mule deer per person.

4-Day Deer Hunt reduces from $3000 to only $1995 for filling the last two seats. When they are gone they are gone. You will be writing in the game rich Dawes County by Chadron Nebraska in the north west corner of the state. The area boarders a preserve so many deer come out of the preserve to even boost our populations even higher that it currently has. Because of the high amount of private property in this area silences’ are usually available into late summer and sometimes longer.
This hunt requires minimal exertion because it is a blind hunt or a short spot and stalk. You will be hunting 800 acres of private property. The best hunting is during the rut which is the same time as the rifle season in Nebraska.
You will need to get a license for Dawes County on the internet as soon as possible to see if you even need a hunt. The camp has minimal facilities but is located in a perfect place for quick access to the heaviest deer populations.

No sleeping bags or cots are needed and all meals are provided.
Hunting Travel is provided and will be via horseback, ATV or 4x4 pickup, depending on the destination of the highest deer concentrations at that time. There is no need for a spotting scope your guide will have one. At most ranges your scope or better yet a pair of binoculars is adequate.
We are about 60% whitetails and 40% mule deer taking only a total of 10 hunters each year. Advise your guide of your preference it will make a difference as to what area of the ranch that you hunt. Most of our hunting is from ground based box blinds that give us good visibility of the area that the deer are traveling.

You will be hunting ranch/farm/timber land. These deer have it all so you must think of all options. Find where the feed, find where they bed and you will quickly find a bullet hole behind their shoulder. The agricultural crops are mostly pasture, corn or alfalfa and they bed in the wood lots. These ranches have bucks moving in and out all of the time and since the rifle hunt is during the rut it is like a freeway using the Niobrara River.
Find the does and you will find bucks. You are on a 5000 acre ranch what could be better.
The first 8 hunters booked get their choice of the first 4 days of the season or the last 4 days of the season so book soon if you have a preference. There is the beauty of being first, but also hunting during the peak of the rut is during the last 4 days of the season. The hunters of the last 4 days also have the option to shoot a turkey for $200 and a doe whitetail for $150. This can only take place after everyone has shot their bucks.
A kill rate of 100% on rifle, 80% Muzzleloader, and 35% Archery speaks for itself.
Mule deer and whitetail are on separate ranches and in different habitat. This is broken down into 5 different ranches, so have mule deer and some have whitetail.
Expect 8 to 10 points in both Mule deer and Whitetail is the norm but a neighbor shot a high 190 muley that Cabela’s wanted. So we won’t promise you that you will be held back to a 10 point.

Licenses are $209 and are available over the internet for this area. This is in a trophy area so licenses do run out early. This is a hunt in the Nebraska Sand Hills region managed by the Nebraska Game Fish & Parks as a trophy area. End of the season dates are good because the deer have not been bothered on the ranch and others have been pushed from other ranches and move in due to the seclusion at the ranch. Self Guided or Drop Camp Elk Hunts These hunts are only offered in Game Management Units 51 and 52 and are offered for all weapon types, rifle, muzzleloader and bow. Unit 51 is located directly below Unit 52 in North Central New Mexico and is approximately 380,000 acres (594 square miles). This unit offers the hunter easy access, an excellent elk population, and limited hunting pressure. The unit offers almost a 100% opportunity to draw a license with the use of the outfitter number. We did not offer self guided hunts in this unit last year but our guided hunters had an 84% hunter success and a 100% hunter opportunity. Unit 52 is located in North Central New Mexico, with Colorado as its northern border. This unit is approximately 300,000 acres. The area has numerous open roads within the unit, often two to three miles apart, which allows the hunter access to areas to hunt by foot. This unit has an excellent elk population and the number of hunters is controlled, as opposed to most of Colorado’s public land units. The odds of drawing a license are excellent with the outfitter number. Bow hunts can be combined with a mule deer hunt and/or a bear hunt also, at no additional hunting fee.
