These hunts are 5 days with lodging and meals in town about 15 miles away. this will be "low impact hunting” with 100% success at this time for this year and last. Much of it is lying on the top of haystacks and shooting the cows as they come into the alfalfa field. Or truck driving spot and stalk glassing. The cost of this 5 day guided hunt is only $995 as long as the supply lasts. This huntmay not be available next year so this is the chance of a lifetime to hunt elk successfully with a rifle for the duration of many months. The hunt area is southern Colorado. Do It Yourself Hunt (DIY) It doesn't get any better than this for the DIY elk and deer hunter, or even bear hunter. This lodging put you right in the middle of a huge Wilderness are that has very little hunting pressure. You will be entering from the back side of a wilderness area that is about 50 miles wide. Many, many tropht deer and elk have been taken here and even some big bruins durring the early seasons before they hibernate here. Do It Yourself Hunt (DIY) w/help This is the perfect beginning of a 2-3 hunter DIY hunt on 1320 acres of private land in GMU013 17 miles south of Hayden, Colorado. Pastures with fingers of cover are the roads that the deer and elk travel to get to the hayfields. The area supports local and migrating herds of deer and elk, There is a trick that quickly put elk down and the owner will show you how as he shows you the property and provides you a map of the property. There is an additional 160 acres to hunt that has an “As is”, A Frame cabin on it that is free to stay in although you might want to look it over before you stay their some repairs are needed. There is camping with a self contained trailer, or camper, or tent if you bring one, the options are yours. It is close enough to Hayden or Craig to stay in town also if you would rather do that. The lodging is not a part of this package it just happens to be on the property. Northwest Colorado is famous for its large herds of elk and other big game such as mule deer and pronghorn antelope. All of our elk hunts and big game hunting is fair chase only (no high fences here). Our Colorado ranches are managed to provide you with superb big game hunting opportunities. Colorado is home to 300,000 elk the most of any state, with the next closest being under 100,000. The largest concentration of these elk is in Northwest Colorado, where we hunt. We will meet you the day before your hunt starts, show you the property, and help you plan your hunting strategies. By the way, we recommend 4-wheel drive vehicles; and ATVs are welcome. However, all vehicle travel is restricted to the two track roads, and the less driving the better to keep the animals on the property. We book up quickly because we have a very high hunter return rate, probably a good many due to our high success rate. This is some of the finest Mule Deer and Elk hunting in the state.
